This is a valid question. It has been a concern since antiquity. Twentieth Century medical opinion held that all women’s milk was the same but now it is recognized that the quality of a mother’s milk is influenced by her diet and that the quality of your baby is dependent on your milk. The babies of some vegetarian mothers have been diagnosed with ‘failure to thrive syndrome’. Except in these extreme cases, your milk will always be superior to formula; upon this you may depend. However following the simple steps as in above FAQ can assure a higher quality milk. If baby throws up don’t think your milk is bad. It’s for some reason besides milk quality, usually an air bubble or holding him too curled up

Planning a baby shower can be a daunting experience as well as a rewarding one. If you are the one in charge of this task and you plan to plan the party on your own there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you want o gauge the size of the party. Usually contacting the parents of the expected mother or even the best friend (if you are not that person already) to obtain a guest list. Not much can be worse then if you forget to invite that one special person. When this happens it can be a downer for the whole party. Once you have the guest list completed it makes planning much easier. It allows you to determine how many party favors, place settings, food and drink you will need to keep things lively or the full party. Just guessing on the amount of people you plan to attend the party is a recipe for failure. Failure is not an option! After all, you have an expected mother to make happy!

Once the basics of the party are planned you need to make sure the mother to be is taken care off. One of the big pluses for the expecting family is the fact that they will receive baby shower gifts to help sustain them for the first few months of the baby’s life. It’s expensive to raise an infant so this is a great opportunity for that family to get a little help from their friends. If the mother to be has announced the sex of the child it makes it a little easier to plan for gifts. If they have not, you will need to stress to the guest that unisex items will be best. This will help to ensure all gifts given will be affective and useful to the parents. Try to get the mother to register at an online store and a retail location. A gift registry makes life very simple for a party planner and also helps those attending the party ensure they get a gift that is useful to the guest of honor. All you need to do with the baby shower gifts is make sure everyone knows what sex they should be buying for and where they should buy (if the family is registered somewhere.) It’s then out of your hands and fate will be your guide!

Once you have that taken care of you need to figure out your entertainment. There are many online guides for baby shower games that are fun for everyone. In many cases these games are free or can be put together with general household items. Most people like games because it helps the time pass and it keeps everyone excited about the party. It’s also a good transition between food and diving into those baby shower gifts. Depending on your level of party professional entertainment might be sought out to ensure party goers and the mother to be are fully entertained. This can be expensive but if this is an option for you, it’s likely that you are aware of this.

The key to a successfully party isn’t always how much you spend. It’s the celebration of life that makes it special. It’s easy to hit a home run at a party like this. Simply make sure you celebrate baby and mother above all else and make sure the focus remains on the celebration of life!

If you are short-tempered, impatient or have a criminal record, a career in childcare is not for you. Handling children can be tiring at times. It is best to get hands-on experience in the field, while still in high school or college. A few options to consider would be baby-sitting, teaching at Sunday school in church, volunteering as a classroom helper or daycare assistant and working at a summer camp.

The job involves nurturing and caring for children who have not yet entered the formal schooling years and older children in before-and-after-school situations. Childcare workers are expected to care for children and take the place of their parents. They play an important role in the child’s development, by attending to the basic needs in the parents’ absence.

To stimulate the physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth of children, childcare workers also have to be skilled to organize various activities. They are expected to help children explore individual interests, recognize and develop talents, build a sense of independence and self-esteem and learn how to get along with others. These are done via specially designed games and interaction. The childcare worker combines basic care and teaching, to enhance the skills inherent in the child and those that will be required in school.

Among the other duties are maintaining contact with the parents or guardians through meetings, to discuss the progress and needs of the children, maintaining progress records and suggesting ways to stimulate a child’s learning ability.

Childcare workers employed in before-and after-school programs are expected to help students with their homework, engage them in extra-curricular activities including field trips, learning computers, painting, photography and participating in various sports. Taking the children to school and bringing them home can also be a part of the duties assigned. Similarly, keeping the children healthy and looking after their eating habits is an important responsibility too.

Self-employment is a good option. Many childcare workers have their own businesses. However, employment is possible as a private household worker, babysitter and family childcare provider in childcare centers. These centers provide pre-school services for children between 3 or 4 years.

Those in charge of infants are called ‘infant nurses’. ‘Nannies’ work full or part time for a single family. Employment as an Au Pair will take the worker abroad as a nanny. The other employment options are pre-school leaders, pre-school workers, early years care and education workers, nursery assistants, learning support assistants, classroom assistants, play leaders and assistant play leaders.

There is a demand for child care personnel, creating good job opportunities. People who are qualified and interested in the field get good jobs within no time. Childcare can be very rewarding, as you become a role model for children and derive a deeper job satisfaction with the responsibility. However, the working conditions can be stressful and the salary depends on the age and experience of the worker.

This varies from a high school diploma to a college degree, depending on the position. On the job training and experience is essential in certain situations.

Foster care adoption is a growing need in a society more and more able to adopt from oversees. There are many children waiting to be adopted in the U.S but there are even more who are just coming into the system.

Children that are adopted are generally adopted as infants or while very young. Most adoptive parents want a baby but this is not always the case. There are times when the child is older and has been in foster care homes for a while. Consequently they have their own issues to deal with. They do not always fit in with their classmates because of the family situation. They tend to harbor anger at the world for having been placed in this situation. Due to these special circumstances, it takes a certain skill set from the adult to make the adoption successful.

The ideal adult who has success at foster care adoption generally has a lot of patience and a giving and caring nature. Kids that have spent time in foster care have a different world view than their counterparts and the adult needs to recognise this and be able to cope with it while maintaining an emotional balance.

Surprisingly, it is often beneficial to have the child establish contact with his or her birth parents during the time the foster care adoption is taking place. It is generally thought that this communication allows the child to better understand the circumstances leading up to the decision to put the child in foster care to begin with. When the child understands that things were being done for his benefit, he can acheive a sense of closure that he would otherwise not get.

There are other common traits shared by family units that had a successful foster care adoption. Some of these are a good sense of humor to get through the hard times, the ability to impart a general feeling of acceptance to one’s situation, and getting involved with the child’s social life. These qualities are imperative if a properly functioning family unit is to be formed. The adoptive parents need to have and be able to demonstrate these qualities to the adoption agency in order to be granted the adoption. One such established agency is Circles of Care which is a private non-profit, social service agency. Its mission is to enhance children, youth, and families ability for effective living and growth through comprehensive social and mental health services.

At Circles of Care, the main program is therapeutic foster care. The staff includes program and clinical supervision by Masters level staff with experience in dealing with abused children. Case managers have degrees in Human Services. Treatment Planning and Review services include a consultant team, featuring a psychiatrist and psychologist.

Therapeutic foster care is specially designed to handle the demands of children who have experienced various types of abuse and neglect. Their emotional or behavioral problems require special attention and intervention. Therapeutic foster/adoptive parents are people who have the ability to parent the more challenging child. Therapeutic foster/adoptive parents get specialized training to help them work with these children. They also receive support and other services from Circles of Care to aid them in caring for these children.

Child health insurance plans are those that are specially designed to provide coverage to the health care needs of children and babies. Commonly, children require more medical attention that adults. Infants need vaccinations and other injections. Moreover, their immunity levels are lower than full-grown individuals and they tend to fall ill easily. Certain diseases target only children, like measles and mumps. Adults are rarely affected by such ailments. Moreover, children tend to get injured fast. They are more physically active than adults, they often fight with their friends and accidents are bound to happen. On an average, children require more visits to the doctor than the healthy adult. For this reason, it is crucial that you take out a health care policy exclusively for your child, to ensure the overall well-being of your child.

It is imperative that you carry out extensive research before you settle on a child health insurance plan, do not buy the first policy you come across. Consult as many insurance companies as possible. Inform them about any special requirement your child may have. Compare all the available options and seek the counsel of some experienced policy holder. Find out how soon the companies pay out, your child may be in need of emergency treatments and any delay in pay outs can hold up the treatment, posing a serious threat to your child’s health.

First and foremost you want to find child care you can trust. This can be done in various ways and methods. One of the first things you will want to do is look over the daycare center very carefully. Check out their credentials very carefully. Ask them plenty of questions and take a note of all their answers. Ask if you can talk to other parents who have used them for child care. Reputable people don’t mind giving you names of people you can talk to, but if they do not then also make a note of that. Ask questions about what your child will be doing while they are there. Don’t be shy these are your kids so ask plenty of questions. Most people will be more than happy to answer questions. In reality if they want your business they will stay as long as it takes until you are happy with the answers.

Child care is one of the best things that you could do for your children. This means that following up with your child’s progress is also very important. Both your child and the provider will be excited to see you’re there and get your input on various projects and ideas. Child care can be very beneficial to you and your child if done properly.
